Live Music Performance Tips - For a Traveling Guitarist

If your a new guitarist traveling to shows a few hundred miles from home. Before you leave check out Live Music Performance Tips. Be prepared...

Okay so you've come along way from when you first started to play guitar. Now you find yourself maybe going on the road with your band to do a few shows, then returning promptly when your done.

Thats all fine dandy I'm really excited for you, but lets make sure you haven't forgotten some simple things I'm sure you didn't think about.

An Old Saying That Works

Its better to be prepared than not at all. We've all heard that a hundred times if not more. But in this instance it might be a good idea to plan just a little just to make your trip more enjoyable. I know its only a few hundred mile trip and bada bang your done.

These two tips here are mainly for those of you that are traveling but I did write out some others you could gain from at Treble Clef Reviews.

Travel Lite

Tip #1. Yep thats right get everything you need to wear while your gone to fit in this backpack.

Look you don't need much just another change of cloths and what your wearing on stage.

There will be room for a few toiletry items.

And you might find that you can fit more in there than you need.

Okay so no suit cases deal? only a backpack.

Staying In Touch

Tip #2. I know your looking at that smartphone saying to yourself well duh!
You would be wrong if you thought I was reminding you to take your phone, because I'm not as I believe your going to take it anyway.

But there are two things I think would help while your gone. Get an extra battery and take with you.

And don't forget to take the cord to charge it with. You wouldn't believe how many people leave home without these two items.

Conclusion

There I think you have it, that was really simple now wasn't it? Its easy to forget these items especially when your so excited about doing your first show away from home.

Theres more to consider when playing on the road than just front end sound and amps. Keep Murphy's Law in the back of your head and prepare for him as well.

Thats all I have for now, please check back often I'll talk to you then.

Custom Guitar Artwork

As of late I have really been getting into guitar design, and how the sky is the limit on how you can design a guitar. I'm not really certain how playable most of the designs I saw are, but they were really cool to look at.

I did an article on Cool Guitar Graphics where I showed a few of these custom designs. And thats what I would like you to do is follow the link and look at some of them. Now these custom guitars are certainly not the most weird looking but! they do have an unique look to them.

Have You Played With a Vagina Lately?

Oh get your mind out of the gutter for gods sake! Go take a look at this Custom Guitar and see what I'm talking about. Now I know we're talking about guitar artwork here and this guitar certainly don't fit the bill. But I like the way it looks, to me its pretty sleek looking and very clean. If this post reaches anyone who has one of the custom guitars, please reply to this post and let me know how it plays.

Do You Have Your Favorite Custom Guitar Shop?

If your someone who doesn't mind shipping your beloved (guitar) off to a Luthier of choice. I have found by keeping an eye out at the NAMM Shows that I can generally find a good luthier to do this kind of work on my guitar. So if your wanting to get some custom work on your ax and don't know where to start just browse through the NAMM Show site and your sure to find a few.

In Closing - A Side Note

Okay well I hope I gave you a few places you could look at in case you was wanting to get your guitar tricked out. At least take a look at them anyway.

Now as a side note! If there happens to be any drummers reading this well I think this is just trick for you as well. You know how everyone you see loves to play air guitar to their favorite song?

We just see them everywhere don't we? Well how about playing Air Drums yes even You Can Play Air Drums with this. Watch The Video Below!

So thats what I've got for you today, check back in often as I will be posting more and building this
Markus
site in tiny bits but I'll get it there.

Don't forget to go read my article on Cool Guitar Graphics.

Entertainment Business Course - Maybe Not a Course!

If your a guitarist wanting to play guitar for a living. Would taking an Entertainment Business Course help? Maybe but you don't need a course for that.

Before I get to far into this blog first let me tell you that, it will be rather a short one. Besides the fact I’m just dong this off the cuff “you might say”. And the real fact is I’m still just trying to get use to the platform here. So please forgive me for bad grammar and spelling, I’ll get better I promise.

Just Planting a Seed For Down The Road

This is for the guitar player thats more of a beginner. I mean someone who’s been studying and jamming for oh! let say 1 to 2 years. And you have gotten the idea that maybe playing guitar is what you want to do. But from what you can see its doggy dog out there, and not much money to be found.

Now that may be so in most cases you might have to play a few gigs in order to make any kind of money. So what I want to impart to you is that maybe you just have to approach this from a different angle.

Whats The Secret Angle - You Say!

There is no secret angle but there is another way to think about this. Try this on: Your passion like most of ours is “playing guitar”. But in the industry music is a business. Now this might not help you today but it will down the road.

So what you need is an online business thats all on your real estate that you own. Once you get that up and running then you need a plan. (roadmap if you will)
Then you need to implement your plan one day at a time.

I want to encourage you to keep honing your craft Get More Guitar Lessons
And when your ready Lets Build Your Business.

Final Thoughts

So there you have it. Just a short blog on getting an Entertainment Business Course. I did another more detailed article about this called: Playing Guitar For a Living at Treble Clef Reviews go check it out.

Who Am I?

I'm just a working musician/guitarist that wants to help others do the same thing. Like many of us through our careers, we have gotten some crappy information. Also check out todays post there on: Whats in Your Acoustic Electric Guitar.
